Kateryna Solodovnyk

"I am honoured to join the VIAC Community Ambassador Network as the VIAC Ambassador for Ukraine, alongside distinguished practitioners and academics from the region and beyond. Ukrainian businesses are deeply engaged in commercial activity across Europe and increasingly seek reliable, neutral and efficient mechanisms for resolving cross-border disputes. In this context, VIAC stands out as one of the primary arbitral institutions trusted by Ukrainian parties for the resolution of international commercial disputes. In my role as the VIAC Ambassador, I aim to further strengthen VIAC’s presence among Ukrainian parties, contribute to the development of arbitration practice in Ukraine through engagement with VIAC and enhance professional dialogue and cooperation within the broader VIAC network across Central and Eastern Europe."

Kateryna Solodovnyk is a Senior Associate in the International Arbitration Department of Ilyashev & Partners (Kyiv, Ukraine), where she focuses on international commercial and sports arbitration. She regularly acts in complex, high-value disputes conducted under the rules of worldwide leading arbitral institutions, with particular experience in VIAC-administered proceedings.

Kateryna has gained first-hand insight into VIAC’s procedural framework through representing Ukrainian state enterprises in VIAC arbitrations, allowing her to closely engage with the institution’s efficiency, procedural adaptability and pragmatic approach to case management from a party’s perspective.

In parallel with her commercial arbitration practice, Kateryna has developed strong expertise in sports arbitration and serves as Advisor to the Chairman of the Sports Arbitration Court at the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine. This cross-sector arbitration experience enables her to approach international disputes with a nuanced understanding of both commercial and regulatory dynamics, positioning her well to contribute to contemporary discussions within the VIAC arbitration community.
