Stephanie (Steph) McTighe is a senior associate in CMS’s UK Dispute Resolution Group with in-depth experience of advising clients on English law commercial disputes in the High Court and in international arbitration. Her experience includes acting for multinational and listed companies, often with a foreign law element and regularly with clients in the CEE region. Her arbitration experience predominantly includes shareholder disputes between private equity and private businesses in a range of sectors, with experience of VIAC, ICC and LCIA institutional rules. Steph has a keen interest in mass litigation and arbitration and advises clients facing competition claims. Annually, she is a co-editor of the CMS European Class Actions Report, in collaboration with colleagues across the CMS UK and European branches.
Steph qualified as a solicitor in London in 2012 and worked for US firms Dewey & LeBoeuf and Quinn Emanual before leaving for a policy role at Westminster between 2015 – 2022. In that time, she became a CEDR-qualified mediator before returning to the legal profession in 2022 when she joined CMS in Edinburgh. She has five-year-old twin daughters who keep her busy in her spare time and really wants to become friends with Victoria Beckham one day!
