The memorandum of understanding was signed by Günther Horvath, the president of VIAC, and Dirk Buschle, the chair of EDRC.

Dirk Buschle said: “Effective energy dispute resolution increases investor security and supports energy reforms, and thus the Secretariat’s mission. EDRC has built a lot of expertise in settling high profile disputes over the years. Cooperating with VIAC, a well-established dispute settlement institution, will help us achieving our mission even more effectively.”

Günther Horvath said: “VIAC is perfectly placed to administer energy arbitrations due to its unique geographical position in the centre of Europe. With its experience in energy matters and its background in the region, VIAC provides outstanding services to its users. Together, the two organizations will offer new services to energy clients in the EU, Energy Community and beyond.”
