REVIEW: Bergsten Lecture 2017

VIAC hosted the 5th Bergsten Lecture on 9 April 2017.

129 2017 04 09 arbautIn the course of the 24th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, VIAC had the great honor of hosting the Eric Bergsten lecture for the second time in its premises on 9 April 2017.

The lecture was organized by the University of Vienna and the Austrian Arbitration Association and delivered by Ms Cherie Blair (Omnia). More than 150 attendees followed her speech approaching the subject "Wikileaks & Beyond: Admissibility of Improperly Obtained Evidence in International Arbitration".

115 2017 04 09 arbautThis annual lecture is held in honor of Professor Eric Bergsten, the "father" of the Vis Moot who had organized this event for decades. The lecture was followed by a panel discussion with Professor Stefan Kröll, one of the directors of the Vis Moot, and Florian Kremslehner (Dorda) led by the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Vienna, Professor Paul Oberhammer. The renowned participants from domestic and international universities, top law firms and the Austrian Supreme Court were subsequently invited by Arb|Aut and VIAC for cocktails in the SkyLounge of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
